Talk About Listening Skill According to Articles



This study aims to find the students’ competency in listening test and also to find out their problems through the listening test result. There are two problems that had been discussed. The first problem is to find out the students’ competency in listening test and also to find out their problems through the listening test result. This article explains that when students are made aware of the factors that affect listening, the levels of listening, and the components of the listening process, they are more likely to recognize their own listening abilities and engage in activities that prepare them to be effective listeners. Therefore, listening comprehension must be the major topic to be taught in learning English as the second language prior teaching the other skills. It must be taught at the beginning of the teaching process. In this research, it can be seen that the biggest difficult things in listening was how to focus and concentrate on the conversation and understand the content. In this case, exercises are very much needed since listening skill is an integral part of language learning. The more they take exercises in listen the native speakers, the more they get familiar with the words and the better they have the foundation in increasing their understanding and comprehension. Furthermore, by giving them motivation in learning the L2 which is different from their L1, it is hoped that they will be able to increase their ability particularly in mastering the listening skill.


Second :


This article focus on the tools of ICT & innovative ELT methods make learning easy and enjoyable for the student of English learning as a second language. This article discusses how innovative ELT methods can evolve according to the times, especially in the modern era now. This article explains that the teacher need to upgrade themselves to use these e-learning tool to teach student in the class to achieve the educational goals, because with the worldwide reach of the Internet and the availability of smart devices that can connect to it, a new age of anytime anywhere education is dawning. In this article there are the new innovative ELT method are popular now namely New Trends in Teaching English, Use of e-learning tools in Teaching English (internet, youtube, skype, twitter, virtual classroom, breakout rooms, smart - broads, mobile phones, podcasting, and blog).



This article explains that the use of blogs can motivate children's learning and also exercise self-confidence in each student. In this digital era, one of the activities that millennial students like is document or record their activities by making videos which are commonly known as Video log. However, the use of V-log still tends to be a daily activity that is still closely related to student life. The use of V-log as one of the media that can be used for learning, it is still seen as a hobby and not in educational settings. But using video logs in English classes is uncommon for the students. The video log gives students the opportunity to share their learning material with a wide audience. In this article the author believes that V-log helps the students to increase their speaking skill. There are numbers of studies related to the influence of blogging to students’ speaking ability. While for another students V-log is struggle for students who lack vocabulary and less confidence. Beside that, In my opinion vlog helps to develope students' listening skill also.


Fourth :


This article is almost the same as the second article. According to this article Learning a foreign language by using social media is getting important because it has great potential to support student-centered learning, as it is flexible, interactive, and content–rich in nature. This research was aimed to develop an English listening comprehension model by using Social Media You tube. This article explains that listening comprehension is very important and is much needed by students in all aspects of language learning. This is because listening is one of the most important information windows apart from reading. Listening is also relatively more difficult for students to master, especially for non-English speaking learners. The objectives of the study were to develop an online listening instructional model for English Study Program learners, and to investigate the effects of using LCSMB model. The findings revealed that the LCSMB Model was suitable to teach English listening online with task-based approach, emphasizing interaction, activity and flexibility. The LCSMB brings broad changes to the traditional way of teaching listening skills in English and the relationships between teachers and students. Students could learn English listening anytime and anywhere through LCSMB. For pedagogical implication, the development of the LCSMB Model might offer practical solutions for the development of English teaching and improve students’ listening ability.


Fifth :


This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a different method, use of Prezi online software as a learning-teaching material to improve the listening skill of the students in a German language department in Indonesia. The results of the study showed that Prezi online software was well-accepted and very well-applied by the students. The students preferred this method to books. Moreover, it was observed that using this method improves the students’ listening skill who study the German language. Pedagogical implications are discussed. This article explains that a learning material was developed for lis‑ tening courses (Hörverstehen) with Prezi Online Software media for the listening section of Cd Audiobook Studio d A2. The development model applied in this research was based on the theory of Richey and Klein (2009). The results of the development of learning media for listening courses (Hörverstehen) with Prezi Online Software media for the listening section from Cd Audiobook Studio d A2 is good. The using of Prezi Online Software can increase the score of listening skill lesson. This learning material helps the stu‑ dents very much in understanding the lessons. Moreover, this learning material is also more attractive and interesting for the students.
